Trumbull Man Stalked Woman In Milford: Police

BREAKING: Police say the man broke into her home, followed her home from a restaurant and tried to block her car in.

MILFORD, CT — A Trumbull man is accused of stalking an ex-girlfriend in Milford, police said. The accused allegedly followed the victim from a restaurant, tried to prevent her from leaving the area and also damaged items in her bedroom after breaking into her house, Milford police said.

On June 4 at approximately 2:30 a.m. Robert Rubino, 23, of Mohawk Drive in Trumbull, entered a Milford residence looking to make contact with an ex-girlfriend who was not at home at the time, police said. Rubino was found by a different family member and asked to leave, police said.

At approximately 3 a.m. the female returned home and stated she had been followed by Rubino leaving a restaurant earlier in the evening and that Rubino had attempted to block her vehicle from leaving the area, so he could talk to her, police said. The female was able to drive away and left the area, police said. When the female searched her bedroom she found that items were damaged and a purse was missing, police said.

Family members stated this was not the first time they have found Rubino in the area of their home attempting to look around and make contact with the female, police said. On June 22, Rubino was taken into custody by Milford Police.

Rubino was held a $50,000 bond to appear in Milford Court on June 26, 2017.
