Man Struck 2 Police Cruisers, Faces Gun Charges: Milford Police
Police found a man asleep at the wheel. He struck two police cruisers then fled, according to police.

MILFORD, CT — A man is accused of hitting two police cruisers, then fleeing officers while he had a gun on him, according to police.
Police responded to a report of a man asleep at the wheel at the intersection of Bridgeport Avenue and Schoolhouse Road on Wednesday shortly after 1 a.m.
Officers said they found Nathan Araujo, 36, of Naugatuck, asleep at the wheel of a 2018 Chevrolet Corvette with the car in drive.

Police were attempting to get Araujo to put the car in park when he reversed, striking a police cruiser behind him.
Araujo then pulled forward, causing an accident with another police cruiser coming into the area, police said.

Officers attempted to remove Araujo from the car, but he fled. Police took him into custody after a short foot pursuit.
As they did so, an unregistered gun fell off his body onto the sidewalk, police said.
Police also said they found "a large amount of suspected narcotics" in the car, including cocaine and Percocet pills.
Araujo is a convicted felon.
He was charged with evading responsibility with injury, criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, interfering with police, and several motor vehicle charges.
He was released after posting $210,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Milford Superior Court on April 23.
