Man Who Stabbed Wife and Elderly Man in Milford Captured

The FBI found him in Pennsylvania.

Amado Rodriguez, 48, who is accused of committing a double stabbing on Sunday, April 19 in Milford has been arrested in Philadelphia by the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, reports NBC Connecticut.

Rodriguez is accused of entering an elderly man’s house where he allegedly cut his ex-wife’s throat while she lay sleeping, and then he allegedly attacked an elderly man who has vision problems. Rodriguez’s former spouse is a live-in caretaker for the elderly male victim, police said.

Milford police spokesman Sgt. Jeffrey Nielsen has said Rodriguez may be in the Bradley Beach area of New Jersey or Philadelphia where he has family ties. An arrest warrant has been prepared for Rodriguez and he will be charged with first-degree assault, first-degree assault of an elderly person, home invasion, first-degree burglary, second-degree larceny, and criminal violation of a protective restraining order.

Nielsen said both victims in the double stabbing incident were treated for their injuries and released from the hospital. Police are still searching for the victim’s car.

Immediately, following the stabbing Rodriguez fled the scene after stealing the male victim’s car, police have said.

When police officers arrived they found a female with a serious laceration to the neck and a male who had suffered a head injury and a laceration to his neck, Nielsen has said.

Rodriguez is accused of entering the home on Washington Street without authorization and entered the female’s bedroom where he cut her throat with a knife while she lay sleeping, police have said.

He then allegedly attacked the elderly male who has vision impairment, police have said.
