Marcia Elizabeth Cobain

Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend

Marcia Elizabeth Cobain (née Cole), a beloved longtime resident of Milford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, at the age of 80. She left this world surrounded by the unwavering love of her three devoted sons, Jeff, Mike, and Chris, who were by her side until the very end.

Born on July 23, 1945, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, to the late Bernard H. Cole and Grace Olive Vigeant King, Marcia grew into a woman whose heart was as vast as her capacity for care. For decades, she poured that heart into her calling as a registered nurse, touching countless lives with her compassion, skill, and quiet strength before retiring. But it was in her role as a mother, grandmother, wife, and friend that her light shone brightest. Marcia's greatest joy came from the simple, beautiful moments: watching her grandchildren grow, laughing together on beach outings, exploring new places through travel, and sharing quiet, golden years with her cherished friend Don Crowell of Tucson. She built a life rich in lifelong friendships and deep bonds with former colleagues who became family. Her warmth, her humor, and her unwavering kindness left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband E. William "Bill" Cobain, who passed suddenly in 1997. The profound love they shared became the foundation of the family she nurtured so tenderly. Marcia is survived by her three sons: Jeffrey T. Cobain and his wife Rebecca of Reno, Nevada; Michael W. Cobain of Milford, Connecticut; and Christopher J. Cobain of Portsmouth, Rhode Island. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of six wonderful grandchildren—Christopher, Taylor, Paige, Travis, Jimmy, and Jack—who were the absolute delight of her life and the living legacy of her boundless love. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely will live on in every hug, every shared memory, and every act of kindness her family and friends
carry forward.
