Obituary: Margaret Gallagher, 87, of Milford

Margaret (Ward) Gallagher, age 87, of Milford, devoted wife to the late Thomas Gallagher, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Margaret was born in Creggs, County Roscommon, Ireland on June 29, 1937 to the late Thomas and Mary Ellen (Feehily) Ward. Margaret was a member of the Fairfield Irish Club and an active parishioner of St. Ann Church in Devon where she served as a eucharistic minister for many years. Margaret’s greatest joys were her family. She especially loved her children and grandchildren and cherished the times they spent together. She will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, humor and dedication to her family.

Survivors include her children, Thomas Gallagher (Shelby), Peggy Kiraly (Michael), Eileen Simmons (Nate), Kathy Teran (Alfredo). 11 grandchildren, Shannon, Jessica (Andre), Patrick, Sheila (Andrew), Kailey, Jillian (Nihal), John, Jenna (Louis), TJ, Sean and Evan. Great-grandchildren, Kristiana, Gabriella, Cayden, Gannon, Madeline and Logan. She is also survived by her sister, Kathleen Mulligan (Vincent) of New York and brother, Michael Ward of Ireland and many cherished nieces and nephews. Margaret is predeceased by her son, John Patrick Gallagher, her grandson, Adam Thomas Teran, brothers, Patrick Joseph (Pat Joe) and Martin Ward and sister-in-law Assumpta Ward.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, November 20th at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Ann Church, 501 Naugatuck Avenue, Milford. Interment will follow in Saint Michael Cemetery, Stratford. There will be no calling hours. THE GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME is in care of arrangements.
