Marie Gesler, 72, passed on November 11, 2024.

Marie was an integral part of the church and community, serving as the chair of her congregation's Strawberry Festival.

Marie Frances (Montenieri) Gesler, 72, of Orange, CT, beloved wife of John David Gesler, passed away from the progression of Alzheimer’s Disease, on Friday, November 8, 2024 at the Chatham Place at Mary Wade assisted living facility with her family at her side.
Marie was born March 3, 1952, in Glastonbury, CT to the late Eugene and Eleanor (Kocum) Montenieri. She is predeceased by her brother, Eugene Montenieri, Jr., who also suffered from Alzheimer’s dementia. She is survived by her loving husband, J. David Gesler, daughter Lisa Coggins and son-in-law Crescen Coggins, grandson Maxwell Coggins, son David C. Gesler and his fiancé Nicole Goodwin; and by her brothers Ronald Montenieri (wife Paula) and James Montenieri.
Marie was an employee of Saab-Scania for many years, beginning as an assistant and progressing to corporate risk manager. She then worked as the corporate risk manager for Kamco Supply until her retirement in 2019. Marie was an integral member of her town and church community. She was a youth fellowship leader and chair of the Orange Congregational Church Strawberry Festival. She was well-known for her phenomenal baking and for her love of fishing. She was highly regarded and cherished by so many people and will be missed immensely.
Friends and family may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460. A memorial service will be held at the Orange Congregational Church, UCC, 205 Meetinghouse Ln., Orange, CT, 06477 on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 1pm. Interment will follow at Orange Center Cemetery.
