Beloved Mother and Grandmother

Marilyn Natlo Obituary

Marilyn Hayden (Natlo), beloved wife of the late Patrick E. Natlo Sr., devoted mother, Nana, sister, aunt and friend, passed into eternal rest on Sunday, October 6th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on Wednesday, November 13th, 1935, she was the 6th child (of 8) and 5th daughter, of the late Mildred Emily Hill (Hayden) and Lewis Banks Hayden.
Marilyn wed at an early age, becoming a full time homemaker and mother of three daughters. Adding to her family, she always had a dog or two and a bird in the house because she loved animals. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting and was always entertaining and visiting with family and friends for a good game of cards with couples. Her laugh was contagious and could be
heard from another room. When all her children were old enough and enrolled in school. Marilyn went to work part time as a sales associate at Arthurs Department Store. A friend also worked there so they carpooled and she was elated working in the children's department. She loved children, any children, so this was fun. Unfortunately, her husband became ill, a divorce was imminent and she decided to work full time as an industrial worker. This is where she met her friend for life and forever husband. With children all grown and grandchildren being born, Marilyn and Patrick took up boating and enjoyed the water most weekends with annual trips to Rhode Island to celebrate their anniversary. They were always with friends, loved ones and their dogs. Retiring from Bayer Pharmaceutical gave her the opportunity to spend more time with others, surrounded by friends. She was ready to help others and was the first to lend a hand. Every Sunday she attended church with her church family at Mary Tyler Methodist. She traded in her card games for games of Rummikub. There were always fierce competitive games with her Great Granddaughter Cecelia or friends at her condo. She took up gardening and sat by the pool for long chats with the girls. You would often see her and a friend walking their dogs on the property. Marilyn took long walks and had lunch with her friends to catch up on the happenings but always had to be home in time for her loyal dog companion, Koree. Most recently she lived the quiet life with her daughter, Belinda, son-in-law Tony, granddaughter, Chantell and great granddaughter Cecelia. The excitement of her day to day activities were collecting eggs from the chicken coop. They are animals after all and she relished in the task. Marilyn's infectious laugh followed her everywhere and will be sorely missed.
Marilyn is survived by three daughters, Belinda Aylesworth (Anthony Massiello) of Essex, Donna Aylesworth of Milford, Lynn Aylesworth of New York, two siblings, Winifred Clark of Trumbull and Russell Hayden of Shelton, her grandchildren, Chantell Drury, Danielle Cegielski (James), Alexander Malec, Amber Thompson, Erin Massiello, Brad Squires and six others. 8 great-grandchildren, Cecelia, Alex, Sabrah, Bryce, Chantz, Elliette, Shannon and Gage. Many nieces and nephews, including Cheryl Conte and Kimberly Testani who had a special place in her heart. Her dearest friends will always be cherished (Sherri, Mary, Linda, Leah, Liz) to name only a few. Marilyn is predeceased by her siblings, Buddy, Barbara, Faye, Carol and George.
Family and friends may call on Monday, October 14th, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at THE GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD.
