Marilyn “Lyn” Boudreau, 84, of Milford, passed away on September 29, 2026. Born on July 13, 1942, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Louis Boudreau and Germaine (Bourque) Boudreau Velli.
Lyn was a lifelong learner, adventurer, beloved sister, aunt, cousin, and devoted friend whose curiosity, humor, and independent spirit touched everyone who knew her. She attended St. Charles School and was a member of the first graduating class of Notre Dame High School in Fairfield. She attended Annhurst College, Southern Connecticut State College, and later earned a master's degree from Central Connecticut State University. While studying at Southern, she participated in a study abroad program in France, an experience that sparked a lifelong passion for travel.
After college, Lyn taught French and English at Southbury High School before beginning a career in social work. She later joined SNET (Southern New England Telephone), where her intelligence and determination led her to pursue a position as an engineer after teaching herself the advanced mathematics needed to pass the qualifying exam. While engineering was not her true passion, the opportunity provided the means to pursue what she loved most: exploring the world. Throughout her career, Lyn never lost her curiosity, perseverance, or desire to connect with others.

Following her retirement, Lyn discovered what she considered her true calling, teaching English as a Second Language to international students. Through this work, she formed many cherished friendships that spanned the globe and enriched her life for decades.
Travel was one of Lyn's greatest joys. She loved exploring new places and cultures, but nowhere held a more special place in her heart than Torremolinos, Spain, where she returned time and again. Music was woven throughout Lyn's life. She loved to sing, whether performing karaoke in Spain or entertaining family and friends closer to home. Her quick wit and creativity inspired her to write original songs that delighted family and friends for years. Whether she was making people laugh, encouraging everyone to sing along, or taking center stage herself, Lyn's love of music brought joy to those around her.

Lyn was also known for her playful sense of humor and her affection for penguins, a collection that became a beloved part of her life. Her fondness for penguins became well known among family and friends, and her collection of “Perrys” always brought a smile to her face. Her family will fondly remember her quick wit, adventurous nature, and the many stories she shared from her travels and experiences.
Above all, Lyn treasured time spent with family and friends. She created lifelong memories through laughter, holidays, gatherings, and countless adventures, and she remained deeply connected to the people she loved throughout her life.
