Obituary: Mary Catherine Altieri, 48, Of Milford
"Mary gave everything to her family and in her last moments, she gave one more time to strangers in need."
Mary Catherine Altieri, age 48, beloved wife of 24 years to James Altieri of Milford, entered peaceful rest on December 28, 2024.
She was born on July 1, 1976 in Hartford and was the daughter of Raymond and Elizabeth (Schifini) Schlesier of Shelton. Mary was the Director of Healthcare Reimbursement and Financing at the Connecticut Hospital Association. She was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Fairfield University.
In addition to her devoted husband and parents, Mary leaves her two loving children, Ella and Henry Altieri of Milford. She also leaves her sister, Caitlin Krzewick (William) of Wakefield, MA and Joseph Schlesier (Anna) of Morris Plains, NJ and several nieces, nephews, in laws and cousins.
Mary provided an amazing life for her family. She sang loudly, even if she was out of key. She danced in the kitchen. She loved hard and laughed harder. Finding shells on the beach brought her peace and joy.
Mary gave everything to her family and in her last moments, she gave one more time to strangers in need. She will live on through her generosity and love. She will always be with us. Mary is our butterfly, and she is taking flight.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed with a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.at the First United Church of Christ, 34 West Main Street, Milford.
