Mary L. Hanson passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024.
Mary was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 50 years, dedicating her time and talents to the life of the church.

Mary L. Hanson, beloved wife of the late Earle Hanson, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024. Born on May 12, 1934, in West Haven, CT, she was the daughter of the late Albert Joseph Patry and Helen Granger Patry.
Mary was a devoted and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 50 years, dedicating her time and talents to the life of the church including bake sales, church dinners, holiday fairs, vacation bible school and the altar guild. She was also an esteemed member of the Daughters of the Nile. As the beloved matriarch of her family, Mary treasured her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, providing endless love and support. Holidays were always a joy when she was hosting, from Christmas Eve dinners to her Memorial Day picnics. Mary's culinary talents shone brightest in her baking, with her renowned "Spritz" cookies and Swedish bread being family favorites. Her legacy of love, kindness, and delicious treats will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Known for her caring nature, she was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Mary is survived by her four beloved children: daughter Marie Compare (Gary), son Rick Hanson (Karen), of Milford, son Mark Hanson of West Haven and son John Hanson (Robin) of Elijay,Ga.. Four grandchildren: Brian Compare (Serene), John Hanson (Miguel), David Hanson (Ryan), and Erica Hanson. Two cherished great grandchildren: Natalie Compare and Audrey Compare. As well as many additional beloved family and friends. In addition to her husband, Mary is predeceased by her grandson Michael Compare and brother Albert Patry, whom she joins in heaven.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 12 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 21 Robert Treat Pkwy, Milford, CT 06460.Interment will follow at Kings Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry St, Milford, CT 06460.
