The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

The single most pressing issue facing our town is the need to continue to adapt on a day-to-day basis to the challenges of Covid. Our school administrators, teachers, students, and parents persevered over the last two years in the face of unprecedented challenges. As our community moves forward, new challenges continually emerge; such as the need to provide educational opportunities to our quarantining students and the need to update, maintain, and modernize our ventilation and air conditioning systems. All this needs to be accomplished within the budget and while ensuring our students receive a quality education.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I graduated from Jonathan Law High School in 2003. Since then, I have lived in Boston, Queens, Stamford, and now back in Milford. Through my various life experiences, I have spoken to thousands of people about their life journeys. My biggest takeaway from those conversations is that you must be prepared for the opportunities presented to you in life. Preparation starts with a quality education that teaches you the basics like reading, writing, and math. However, the other basic life skills are equally important, like working well on a team, speaking in front of a crowd, making friends in new locations, and meeting deadlines. Whether or not a student decides to attend a 4-year college, the education provided by Milford Public Schools must meet those demands. My goal as a Board of Education member is to continue to push for mastery of reading, writing, and math with a focus on the whole student. That whole student is then equipped to start their own business, attend a trade school, and or attend college and be successful.
Accomplishments:
I created a successful business and where I generated over 250k a year in revenue in one-on-one services. I continue to run a subset of that business while earning two simultaneous degrees.
Other issues:
I am very interested in how our food systems affect our health outcomes. Milford’s food services took on feeding Milford students during the Covid shutdown and succeeded. I want to work with our food services to increase the availability of locally sourced nutritious foods, including fresh vegetables and fruits. I also want to, over time, and increase the pay for lunch workers because their jobs are essential.
I also want our schools to continue to expose our students to different career paths and the wide variety of opportunities that exist. This exposure should include expanding existing student extracurricular activities such as Model UN and the Key Club.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I believe every student should receive the tools necessary for success. Each student will need different tools and opportunities to be successful. As a member of the Board of Education I will push to provide our students with as many chances to be successful as possible.
