
Michael C. Healy, 77, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Perry Healy, passed away on Friday, August 30th, 2024. Born on July 12th, 1947, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Clement and Anna Healy.
Mike was a proud member of a large Irish family from the South End of Bridgeport. He attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and graduated from Warren Harding High School in 1965. Michael continued his education at Butler Business School, specializing in accounting, and graduated in 1970.
In 1970, Mike was drafted into the military, where he trained as a tank specialist and was stationed in Germany. After his discharge, he met and married his wife, Perry in 1975. They relocated to Milford, where they spent the next 30 years raising their family. Mike was a dedicated employee of Sikorsky Aircraft from 1978 to 2011, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and hard work.
Mike was an active and lifelong member of the Boy Scouts of America. He served as Scoutmaster for Troop 71 in Stratford before joining Troop 1 in Milford as Scout Leader in 1989. His passion for scouting and his dedication to mentoring young people continued until his passing.
A devout parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, Mike was a fixture in the Milford community, affectionately known as "The Mayor" due to his friendly nature and daily walks around town. His warm presence and jovial spirit made him a beloved figure, always concerned with the happiness of those around him.
Mike took immense joy in being a grandfather, and his grandchildren were the light of his life. He was his happiest when attending any one of their recitals, plays, or sporting events. He loved sitting on his front porch, reading the paper, and found pleasure in watching the world go by. An avid supporter of the underdog, he was a lifelong fan of the New York Giants and the New York Yankees. Mike’s infectious happiness, generous heart, and enduring kindness will be deeply missed by all who know him.
He is survived by his children, Chris Healy (Vanessa), Nicholas Healy (Katharine), and Jeffery Healy. His grandchildren Eloise, Mabel, Charlotte, Graham, and Cole. He is also survived by his brother Richard Healy and sister Debora Marusa (John), as well as several nieces and nephews. He also will be missed by his many well-loved friends and acquaintances.
A visitation will be held at Cody White Funeral Home on Friday, September 6, 2024, 4-7 pm. Mass is Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church 70 Gulf Street, Milford. Please meet at the church. Burial will follow at King’s Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry St, Milford.
