Mike Bloomberg 2020 Campaign Office Opening In Milford
More than 100 people attended the opening, according to the campaign.
From Mike Bloomberg's Campaign: During a national weekend of action, more than 100 supporters and elected officials joined the Mike Bloomberg 2020 campaign as it opened its first Connecticut office in Milford. The office will serve as a headquarters for the Democratic presidential candidate’s Connecticut-based operation as well as a place for volunteers to launch canvasses and engage with voters throughout the state through phone banks.
Notable attendees included Bloomberg campaign co-chair and State Rep. Chris Rosario (D-Bridgeport), Bloomberg campaign co-chair David Kooris, Bloomberg campaign co-chair Kerry Wood, State Senator James Maroney (D-Milford), Mayor of Milford Benjamin Blake, and Bridgeport City Council President--and campaign supporter--Aidee Nieves. The program featured in-state co-chairs who spoke about their support of Mike and hailed Mike’s track record of leadership on several issues including climate change, gun violence, and urban redevelopment.
“Being a legislator of an urban center, tackling gun violence and climate change are critical issues that matter to us, and a big reason I’m supporting Mike Bloomberg is because nobody has a better track record at addressing both those issues than him,” said Bloomberg campaign co-chair and State Rep. Chris Rosario (D-Bridgeport).

“The goal is to beat Donald Trump and we know that Mike has the best plan to do that and he is going to get it done in November and I’m proud to be supporting him here in Connecticut along with my fellow co-chairs,” said campaign co-chair and State Rep. Kerry Wood (D-Newington, Rocky Hill, Wethersfield).
“Mike Bloomberg has a proven track record of addressing the critical issues that are facing our country,” said co-chair David Kooris. “Mike has demonstrated how he can translate the challenges that this country faces, whether that's climate change, urban revitalization, and gun violence, and translate them into opportunities that spur the next generation of growth and prosperity in the country.

“This is a critical election and it’s about who shares our values and who can get in the White House and get to work on day one,” said State Senator James Maroney (D-Milford). “Mike has proven to be successful in the business world and in government, and he has put his money where his mouth is as a philanthropist. He has been influential in criminal justice reform but also inspiring innovation in cities throughout the country.”
“Mike Bloomberg is a mayor which means he’s pragmatic, practical, sensible and that he gets things done,” said Mayor of Milford Benjamin Blake. “We are off to a good start as we kick off the 2020 campaign for Mike Bloomberg right here in Milford. Mike unites people and he is doing the right things, and I’m so proud to have Milford be the place where are kicking off this campaign for the next generation. This is the most important election coming up in my lifetime.”
“Mike Bloomberg’s stance on gun violence and urban redevelopment will be the most important thing that is happening for our cities,” said Bridgeport City Council President Aidee Nieves. “I believe that Mike Bloomberg’s message is one that we’ve been looking for in our country for the past three and a half years. He is the candidate that is strong enough to beat Donald Trump in November.”
This marks Mike Bloomberg’s first office opening in Connecticut ahead of the April 28 primary. The campaign has plans to open nearly 9 more field offices in Connecticut over the next couple of weeks, with dozens of field staff already on the ground.
The office opening comes on the heels of Mike Bloomberg 2020 hosting successful Nevada Debate watch parties in Milford and Prospect. The campaign recently announced another round of co-chairs joining the campaign along with former Mayors Toni Harp (D-New Haven) and Bill Finch (D-Bridgeport) endorsing the Democratic presidential candidate.
It also follows an unprecedented amount of activity from a presidential primary campaign in Connecticut that includes campaign events in Hartford, Greenwich, Stamford, and Manchester as well as announcing co-chairs and staff.
