Milford 12U Softball District All-Stars Tops North Branford 4-2

The Milford Little League District All-Star team had revenge on their mind heading into Friday night's pool play game in North Branford. Looking to avenge a 3-0 opening night loss to the Thunderbirds, Milford used it's dominant pitching and clutch hitting to lead the way.

North Branford got on the scoreboard first pushing across two runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead.

In the top of the 3rd inning Milford would respond. Judy Tarczali worked a lead off walk. Madyson Bull and Talia Salanto each delivered two-out singles to load the bases. Mya Dawid’s triple to the gap cleared the bases, giving Milford the 3-2 lead.

The scored remained 3-2 through 5 innings.

Milford tacked on an insurance run in the top of the 6th. Mya Dawid led off with a deep double to left center and moved to third on Angelina Robinson’s sacrifice bunt. Kelsea Flanagan’s infield single scored Dawid giving Milford a 4-2 lead.

After the first inning, Milford’s Madyson Bull kept the North Branford lineup in check the rest of the way retiring 15 consecutive batters to preserve the Milford win.

With the win, Milford (3-1) takes over first place heading into their pool play finale versus Amity on Sunday. A win would put Milford in Friday’s District Championship game against the winner of Tuesday’s Amity and North Branford matchup.
