Milford Alderwoman Participates in School Reading Program

Alderwoman Ellen Beatty participated in the "Get Caught Reading Day" at Orange Avenue School.

From Alderwoman Beatty: On March 28, 2018, Alderwoman Ellen Beatty participated in the “Get Caught Reading Day” at Orange Avenue School. This yearly event recruits community leaders to read stories to young learners. The event is also timely as April is National School Library Month. Beatty, a long time educator, is thrilled to be back in the classroom. She said, “I find excitement in the classroom and it would be difficult not to experience joy when interacting with these fifth graders. Reading aloud is a meaningful way to communicate and enhances development for both parties. It is a privilege to be invited to the Orange Avenue School, Get Caught Reading Day.”
