Milford Apartment Developer Scaling Back Plans

The new owner of an apartment complex project plans to reduce the number of apartments by more than 150 units.

MILFORD, CT — An apartment developer is scaling back the number of units for a project at 553 West Avenue.

The project, known as Beaver Brook Apartments, was approved for 342 apartments in 2016. The new project owner, 553 LLC, is now scaling it back to 189 units, according to Inland Wetlands Commission meeting minutes.

The new project eliminates .09 acres of wetland filling and access to School House Road. The plan also eliminated the need for a permit from the Army Corps, project attorney Chris Smith said at the Dec. 7 meeting.
