Christopher Plaskon, Accused of Killing Milford Classmate to Undergo Psychiatric Evaluation
Plaskon appeared in court on Thursday as part of a series of pretrial hearings.

Christopher Plaskon, the 17-year-old from Milford who is accused of killing his classmate Maren Sanchez,16, will undergo a psychiatric evaluation, the Milford Mirror reports.
Plaskon appeared in Milford Superior Court on Thursday for the continuation of a pretrial hearing. Plaskon fatally stabbed Sanchez in April.
According to the Milford Mirror, Plaskon will undergo evaluation next month. Plaskon’s attorney, Richard Meehan said a board certified child and adult psychiatrist would interview Plaskon in November.

The report is expected to be presented at court when the pretrial hearing continues on Jan. 21, the paper reports. Plaskon is currently being held at the Manson Youth Institute in Cheshire on a $3 million bond.
Plaskon has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge, which will be based on one of three forms of an insanity please, the paper reports. His case will be presented to a three-judge panel rather than a traditional jury.

Members of the Milford community have continued to honor Sanchez’s memory. According to the paper, a garden will be dedicated in her memory at Jonathan Law High School on Oct. 22.
