Milford Business, Resident Team Up For Wonderful Act of Kindness

MILFORD, CT — Milford's motto is the small city with a big heart and once again that heart was on display today. The city of Milford shared on its social media page a story that occurred inside Cafe Atlantique on Wednesday.

An apparently homeless woman came into the popular downtown spot asking for any day old or stale bread. She also wants to purchase a small coffee, according to the post. The staff gave her a free ciabatta roll with butter. A man in the eatery buys her a small coffee.

"She graciously accepts both offers and neither party makes a big deal out of it. Anyway you slice it both the staff at @CafeAtlantique and the gentleman who bought the coffee exemplified a small city with a big heart on this snowy day," the city of Milford posted.
