The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it. *
My goal as a Board of Education member is to ensure that Milford continues to climb the ranks of being one of the top education systems in Connecticut. I think Milford should continue to evaluate current practice, learn about new and best practices and make decisions that will benefit students as individuals. I think it is important to consider how even the smallest decision will impact every different type of student/learner. Our students should be graduating from Milford Public Schools as critical thinkers that are able to self advocate. Whether they are pursing college, military, a trade or personal endeavors it is imperative that we make sure they are gaining the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post? *
My eagerness to learn and have an impact- as well as my education/experience. This will be my first time running for election. With my passion and background being in education, I want to learn all that I can about Milford Public Schools and the BOE. I then want to use my education and experience to help make impactful decisions that will allow the Milford school system to continue to grow and achieve.
Throughout graduate school I studied topics including policy analysis, public finance and budgeting, and theory and management of public sectors. I believe theses give me a solid foundation to build upon in this position. I also work with students from many (if not most) school districts in CT.
The best advice ever shared with me was ...
