Milford Community Rallying to Support John DeRosa
DeRosa was recently reelected to the Board of Education but he's been long battling health issues and his friends are trying to help him.
Board of Education member John DeRosa, who recently won reelection to a second-term has been battling health issues for a long-period of time and members of the community are rallying to his and his family’s aid.
“As many of us are all too well aware, this fight will take an emotional and financial toll on John and his family. For any of us who have seen John campaign (and win) or witnessed the passion he brings to his public service roll on the Board of Education, we know he is bringing that same fighting spirit and passion to this challenge,” said Paula Smith on social media.
To show support for the DeRosa family, friends of his are hosting a Friends of John DeRosa Pasta Dinner at the Foran High School cafeteria on Wednesday, December 2nd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 per person, $20 per family (up to 5), payable at the door. Dinner includes a variety of pastas, meatballs, sausage, salad, rolls, beverages and a dessert table.

They are looking for those fabulous chefs to contribute sauce (or is it gravy?), meatballs, sausages, salads, rolls & butter, bottled water and desserts. Volunteers are needed to help set-up, serve and clean-up on the day of the event.
“We are also asking for your help in reaching out to your friends, families and colleagues and invite them to this event. Please tap into your social media contacts – let’s fill the room for our friend. If you can’t attend but would like to make a donation, please make checks payable to the John DeRosa Fund and mail to 62 Hauser Street, Milford, CT 06460,” Smith wrote.
