MILFORD, CT — Longtime leader of the Democratic Party and Board of Police Commissioners Chairman Richard Smith has been picked to fill out the remaining term of Mayor Ben Blake, who is resigning his position in June for a state position, Hearst CT reported.

Smith was selected over former Mayoral candidate Kerri Rowland. Smith could not be reached for comment. The local elections are coming up in November.
