The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

Maintaining the strong public school system and bringing together all the stakeholders so that we can create a model for the rest of our state.

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

My 35-year background in public education qualifies me to serve as a member of the Milford BOE. My knowledge of curriculum, professional development, collective bargaining agreements, and teacher and administrative assessment will enable me to come on board ready to do the work at hand.

Accomplishments:

I have served as the president of The Bridgeport Education Association and was a board member of the Connecticut Education Association and National Education Association. I currently serve on the legislative committee for CEA Retired. I have lobbied for public education on a state and national level.

Other issues:

Strong public schools are the backbone of our society. Making sure that our students reach their potential is the responsibility of not only the BOE but of our entire community. Our schools need to be a safe space for all students.

What else would you like voters to know about you?

In my years of experience, I’ve found that if it is good for students, and it’s good for teachers as well. The learning conditions of our children are the working conditions of our staff.
