The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
The most pressing issue facing our town is the state of our schools: i.e. State Mandates and the school curriculum and new resolutions passed by the current board of education. I intend to make the board completely transparent and accountable in the decisions it makes surrounding our children’s education.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
The current board is completely imbalanced with a 9:1 representation. My opponents seek to continue to exert control of the public and push their misguided agenda onto our children.
Accomplishments:
My experience working with the CT Commission on Children in Hartford exposed me to various issues dealing with children in our state. I have been a substitute teacher, and I was in a leadership role as clinical site director of my pediatric office at Optimus Main Street Pediatrics. As a pediatrician who understands children’s health, wellbeing and development, and I can bring back some common sense to the board.
Other issues:
Our teachers need support. The current board has exerted its dominance with complete disregard for how our teachers feel. Many are afraid to contribute ideas or oppose the curriculum for fear of losing their jobs.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I am a parent also and I care deeply about our children.
