The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

The safety and security of our students as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be a challenge for those unvaccinated individuals. I will continue to push the administration to do everything that they can to make sure our kids are as safe as possible while also receiving rigorous instruction.

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

I support the mask mandate for students and staff inside our schools. While I would much rather our schools open without COVID restrictions, I know that the science tells us otherwise, and I believe in science. I also believe that our community wants our children to be critical thinkers who look at the world around them with empathy and kindness. This is why I have supported the district's work on race, equity, and social justice.

Accomplishments:

I am proud to have supported budgets for the last three years that were responsible and also invested in our kids. These investments have included: - The addition of STEM labs in all 8 elementary schools - The renovation and restructuring of the Jonathan Law Media Center (with plans to renovate Foran as well) - The implementation of 1-1 Chromebooks so all students had reliable access to remote learning resources during the pandemic. - The introduction of World Language beginning in elementary school Among MANY other things...

Other issues:

Transparency is a big issue for me. Without transparency there is no trust and without trust there is nothing. I also believe that we need to continue to make investments in our aging buildings. We have an incredible facilities team that works hard every year to make our buildings work for our 21st century needs and our aging buildings need the continued investment.

What else would you like voters to know about you?

Go to YouTube and watch any of the recent Board of Education meetings, and you will see that I ask tough, probing questions. As your representative, I view it as my job to ask administration the questions that parents and community members are asking. I do not shy away from difficult conversations, and I will hold the district accountable when need be. I have a personal stake in the education of all of our kids. Not only do I want our schools to be the best they can be for my daughters, but for every child that passes through the hallways of a Milford Public Schools building.
