Milford Explains What You Can Recycle

The city will roll-out new decals which list and display the eligible items now included in Milford's recently expanded recycling program.

MILFORD, CT — To enhance the effectiveness of Milford’s single stream recycling, Mayor Benjamin Blake announced the roll-out of new decals which list and display the eligible items now included in Milford’s recently expanded recycling program. The Department of Public Works will be delivering these labels during weekly recycling pickups, and our Public Works team will be affixing new decals to the lids of residential recycling totes.

This initiative will increase Milford’s sustainability as recycling conserves our community’s natural resources, reduces landfill waste, improves air and water quality, and protects the planet for future generations. In addition to supporting the environment, more recycling means that the City will pay less to dispose of costly waste, and will instead generate additional revenue from the sale of our valuable recyclables.

Recycling the right materials keeps unacceptable items from contaminating the recycling process. This new educational sticker will help residents, schools and businesses further reduce, reuse, and recycle.
