Milford Father Approved to be Reunited With Wife and Kids After 2 Years Apart: Report
A Milford resident from Syria was denied being reunited with his family that he hadn't seen in two years after Trump's immigration order.

MILFORD, CT — Fadi Kassar, a Milford resident from Syria, will be reunited with his wife and two young daughters for the first time in two years on Thursday after receiving some help from U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., the Hartford Courant reports.
The Courant says Kassar's family will arrive in New York on Thursday and that the father had spent $1,000 previously trying to get his family back before President Donald Trump's immigration order was signed.
After reading about Kassar, who was prevented from being reunited with his family this weekend due to President Trump's immigration order, Murphy stepped in and his efforts paid off, the Courant reports.

Despite securing refugee status, Kassar’s wife and two daughters, ages 5 and 8, were stopped from boarding their flight to the United States as a result of Trump’s executive order blocking all refugees from coming to the United States, Murphy's office had said in a news release.
Kassar has been separated from his family for more than two years. His wife and two kids were sent back to Jordan this weekend. They had been trying to fly in from a Ukraine airport. Murphy’s office has been working actively with the Kassar family, immigration lawyers, the U.S. State Department, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Murphy said the family had gotten rid of all their possessions when they were stopped at the airport. Murphy, according to the Courant, said he can't imagine how scared Kassar's kids were when they were denied getting on the airplane to the U.S. this weekend.
