Milford Fire Department 2022 Call Volume Reaches New High

MILFORD, CT — Milford firefighters has their busiest year ever with more than 9,200 calls for service in 2022. There were 8,445 calls in 2021.

The majority of calls were for EMS response. Actual structure fires only made up less than 1 percent of calls.

Here is how the call volume broke down, according to Milford Professional Firefighters:

• Total call volume: 9,254
• EMS: 5,749
• Extrication: 29
• Fire alarms: 872
• Water rescue: 16
• Structure fires: 29
• Public service/other: 2,559
