UPDATE: House Damaged in Milford Fire; Family Displaced

The fire occurred on Milford Point Road Wednesday.

Update: Fire Capt. Gregory Carman said no one was home at the time of the fire but the house was damaged to the point where no one can live in it right now, and the Red Cross was called in to assist.

Original post: Milford fire crews were busy Wednesday morning battling a fire at 88 Milford Point Road.

Milford Fire Capt. Gregory Carman said when fire crews arrived they had fire coming from the first floor windows on arrival of first fire apparatus.

The fire was extinguished within a few minutes and crews are continuing to put out smoldering hot spots, Carman said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

And of course Milford firefighters were very busy battling a multi-house fire on Melba Street Saturday.
