Milford Firefighters Respond To 868 Calls In 30 Days

MILFORD, CT — The Milford Fire Department responded to 868 calls in the last 30 days, an average of 29 calls per day, according to a Facebook post from the department.

The responses included two vehicle fires, a building fire with, five water rescue calls and more than 500 medical emergencies.

"Even with a busy call volume, our members continue to make training a priority," the post reads. "Maintaining proficiency across all facets of the fire service is essential to providing the highest level of service to our community and ensuring our members return home safely."

Firefighters are currently training on fireground radio communications and MAYDAY procedures, which are "critical skills for the rare but potentially life-threatening situation involving a lost, trapped, or injured firefighter."
