Milford Fundraiser To Benefit Fallen Bristol Police Families

Milford Plunges for BRRistol invites people to take a dip off Walnut Beach in order to raise funds for families of fallen Bristol officers.

MILFORD, CT — Milford police and the Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce invite community members to take a plunge in cold Walnut Beach waters in order to raise funds for the families of two Bristol police officers who were killed in an ambush last month.

Milford Plunges for BRRristol will take place Saturday, Dec. 3. Registration is $20 to participate or $100 to register as a VIP, which includes a gift. Donations can also be made without taking a plunge in the ice-cold water.

All proceeds will go to Fund the First campaign to benefit the families of Lieutenant Dustin DeMonte and Sergeant Alex Hamzy.

Registration and check-in for the event will take place between 10 and 10:45 a.m. The lunge will happen at 11 a.m. following an opening ceremony.

Milford police also encourage businesses to consider donating a portion of their Dec. 3 earnings to the fundraiser. Businesses can learn more by contacting Private First Class Anania at 203-874-2366.
