Milford Home Destroyed in Fire
Two residents have been displaced after a fire caused severe damage to the home.
MILFORD, CT — Two Milford residents have been displaced from their home after a fire broke out Sunday morning and ended up making their home being uninhabitable, a top fire official said. The fire began at 11:42 a.m. Sunday at 423 Housatonic Drive.
Firefighters quickly arrived on scene and found a large volume of fire on the main floor of the single family dwelling located in the Devon section of Milford, said Fire Battalion Chief Anthony Fabrizi. Fire crews brought the blaze under control within minutes, he added. The residence suffered extensive fire, smoke and water damage rendering the structure uninhabitable. Milford’s Fire Marshal’s division is conducting an investigation and a cause has yet to be determined.
"Proper functioning smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors save lives. Batteries should be replaced bi-annually in conjunction with daylight savings time," Fabrizi added.
