From Milford Hospital:Milford Hospital to Hold “Dinner with the Doctor” Program on Robotic Assisted Joint Replacement Are you having difficulty maintaining an active lifestyle due to joint pain? Has your physician told you that you are a candidate for joint replacement surgery? If so, then you will not want to miss this educational event. On Wednesday, January 30th at 5:30pm , Milford Hospital will host the next in its’ series of community health education programs. The “Dinner with the Doctor”program titled “Advanced Options in Joint Replacement: Meet Dr. Malin and the Mako Robot” will offer participants the opportunity to meet Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Joel Malin, who will lead the discussion on advanced surgical options for treating joint pain including Mako Robotic Arm Assisted Joint Replacement Surgery. In addition, those in attendance can see the Mako Robot and observe a demonstration of its precision and technology. A light supper will be served.
Mako Robotic Arm Assisted Joint Replacement is among this latest advancements in orthopaedics allowing surgeons to provide each patient with a personalized surgical experience based on his or her specific diagnosis and anatomy. Milford Hospital is the first hospital in Greater New Haven, and the only hospital on the I-95 corridor from Norwalk to Rhode Island, offering this advanced technology.
Dr. Malin is in practice with Orthopaedic Specialty Group, and has expertise in all areas of treatment including advanced surgical and nonsurgical techniques, pain management and rehabilitation. He has participated in numerous research endeavors, and has presented many publications throughout his career.

This informational program is meant for those individuals exploring surgical options for treatment of degenerative joint disease of the hip or knee. The session will be held in the Milford Hospital Auditoriums, 300 Seaside Avenue in Milford. Space is limited and expected to fill rapidly. Registration is required.
