Milford Little League 12u District team defeats North Haven

On Tuesday night at home in Milford, the 12u district team defeated a very solid North Haven team. In a rematch of last year’s 11u district championship, Milford was able to come from behind and get a big win on their home field.

Quentin Bell got the start on the mound for Milford and delivered a strong performance. North Haven jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning courtesy of 3 consecutive hits. Milford had a strong effort from the entire team, and put up 5 runs in the bottom of the 2nd, and would never look back from there. Quentin Bell threw 2 outs short of a complete game and got the Win. With a 7-5 lead, Milford called on Michael Merchant to secure the last 2 outs, striking out the final batter of the game for the win. In the 6th inning, Jaden Prosser made an incredible over the shoulder catch at the fence and made it look easy. Offensively, Tyler Fonck lead the attack with 2 hits, and also received hits from Merchant, Bell, Evans, Rodriguez and Fehmel.

Milford returns to action this Sunday at Branford with a noon start with hopes to advance to the next round.
