MILFORD, CT — A man is facing charges after he accidentally fired a gun in his home with two young children around, according to police.

Police were dispatched to a Naugatuck Avenue address March 1 on a call regarding an accidental firing of a gun.

Police found that a bullet had been fired through the ceiling of the first-floor home. There were a total of two firings, both of which caused damage.

Andrue Rosado, 26, told police that he was attempting to clean the gun when the firings occurred, police said.

There were two young children at the home when this happened.

Police seized all guns and issued an arrest warrant for Rosado.

He was taken into custody Thursday and charged with two counts of unlawful damage, first-degree reckless endangerment, and two counts of first-degree risk of injury to a minor.

He posted court-set bond of $5,000 and is set to appear in Milford court April 17.
