Milford Man Accused of Choking a Female, Smashing a Phone

Milford police say Thomas McNeil, 36, of Augusta Drive is accused of choking a female during a heated dispute on August 1.

Police said they responded to a city house in response to a 911 call for assistant with an active domestic violence incident.

When police arrived, they said they found McNeil and his female acquaintance in an upstairs room.

The female had apparently been choked by McNeil during a heated argument and had the phone smashed while she attempted to contact police, police said.

McNeil was taken into custody.

He is charged with third-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, disorderly conduct, second-degree criminal mischief, and interfering with an emergency call.

McNeil is held on a $2,500 bond.
