Milford Man Calls 911, Ends Up Being Arrested Himself
The man told police he felt threatened, but later admitted to drinking a beer as he fired off a gunshot into the air, police said.

A Milford man who called 911 claiming to feel threatened by a male early Friday ended up being arrested himself after police say he fired a warning gunshot into the area while allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
Milford police say they responded to the area of High Street and West Main Street on the report of suspicious activity at 1:15 a.m. on Friday.
Kenneth Caluori, 30, of Golden Hill Street, called 911 and said he was confronted by a male who stood in the road waving his arms for Caluori to stop his vehicle, police said.

The male appeared to be in distress but after Caluori stopped his vehicle the male was antagonizing Caluori into a fight, police said.
The male then approached Caluori’s vehicle in a threatening manner, concealing his hand behind his back as if he had a weapon, police said Caluori claimed.

Caluori then pulled out a handgun, which he has a permit to carry and fired a round into the air to stop the male from approaching further, Caluorti said according to police.
The male then ran off and hid, police said. The male was located by police, and found not to possess a weapon, police said.
The male was then sent to the hospital on a medical examination, and while speaking with officers Caluori admitted to having a beer earlier in the evening, police said.
He is charged with reckless endangerment, second-degree breach of peace and carrying a firearm while the influence, and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
Caluori is released on a promise to appear in Superior Court, Milford on Sept. 8.
