Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Milford Shooting: PD
More details emerged after Sunday's shooting on Housatonic Drive.

MILFORD, CT — A Milford man was charged with attempted murder after he shot his stepson, according to police.
Police received reports of shots fired at a Housatonic Drive residence just before 10 a.m. Sunday. Officers found a male victim outside the residence with a gunshot wound to the back.
Eric Stoughton emerged from the residence and was identified as the shooter by a witness, Officer Paige Bodnar, police spokeswoman said. Stoughton was taken into custody without incident.

A weapon was found at the scene with two expended shell casings, Bodnar said.
The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.

"It is alleged that the altercation began as verbal and escalated significantly, resulting in the shooting," Bodnar said.
Stoughton was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, first-degree assault, criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment and unlawful discharge of a firearm. He was held in lieu of $750,000 bail.
