Milford Man Charged in Road Rage Incident

West Haven police say the Milford man is alleged to have assaulted and spat on the other individual.

An alleged road rage incident escalated and a Milford man is accused of punching and spitting at another man in West Haven, police said.

West Haven police say the Milford resident left the scene and when police interviewed him about the incident he didn’t remember what occurred.

The road rage incident began at 6 p.m. Thursday in the area of Main Street near Washington Avenue.

Two males were arguing in the roadway, police said. Through investigation, and according to witnesses at the scene two males were arguing over a road rage incident, and one male spit upon, and punched the other in the face before fleeing, police said.

The complainant came to the West Haven Police Department to file a complaint against the male who spat upon and struck him.

Officers reached Patrick Secchiaroli, 49, of Oak Ridge Road in Milford, by phone who was uncooperative and explained to officers he did not remember what took place, police said.

Officers found Secchiaroli at his residence and arrested him. He was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
