Milford Man Headed To Prison Over Possessing Child Porn: Report

The local resident accepted a plea deal this week.

MILFORD, CT — A Milford man will spend the next five years in prison and register as a sex offender after accepting a plea deal this week, according to News 12 CT. He will also be on probation for 10 years.

The Connecticut Post reports that Dean Barber, 59, of Morning Mist Road pleaded guilty to first-degree possession of child pornography. He will officially be sentenced in June.

In September 2018, Milford Police announced that Barber was arrested for possessing numerous files containing child pornography, police said.

On June 19, 2018, The Milford Police Department Computer Crimes Unit located an IP address downloading and distributing child pornography, police said at the time. A subsequent investigation and search warrant revealed the source IP address originated from a Milford residence, police said at the time.

A search warrant was obtained and executed on the address. The investigation determined that 488 video files containing child pornography were found on the homeowner's computer, police said.
