Milford Man, New Haven Firefighter Arrested For Assault: PD
The New Haven Fire battalion chief was arrested for a West Haven incident, according to police. He lives in Milford.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A city firefighter was arrested after he assaulted an employee at a uniform store in West Haven, according to police.
Battalion Chief Herschel Wadley, 53, of Milford was arrested Thursday for the October incident, according to NBC Connecticut.
Wadley went to buy shirts, pants and boots, but found out the boots he wanted weren't approved for use with his firefighter clothing allotment. He became upset when an employee refused to change the purchase order so he could get them.

Police said Wadley then grabbed the employee's neck and shook her head side to side, according to the New Haven Register. Another employee said he didn't see the assault, but heard the employee yelling at Wadley.
Wadley was placed on paid leave and banned from the store. He is charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
