MILFORD, CT — The family of a Milford man who died last year due to cancer blamed on exposure to asbestos at a job site has been awarded $15 million following a four-week jury trial, Hearst Connecticut Media reported.
Vanderbilt Minerals, a Norwalk company, was found liable for the death of Nicholas Barone, 81, in the suit.
Barone died last year due to mesothelioma. The suit, which included punitive damages, claimed he contracted cancer due to working as a process engineer at a Massachusetts plant from 1965 to '67.
