Milford Man's Life Saved by Bartender, Paramedics
The 68-year-old Milford man was eating at a restaurant late last month when he collapsed, but quick action by many saved his life.

In the case of Milford resident John Simon, a tray of cookies definitely hit the mark.
Simon, 68, and his wife Linda, were dining on October 24 at the Bridgeport restaurant, Ralph n Rich’s when John collapsed, the Connecticut Post reports.

What transpired was almost a series of mini miracles that resulted in John Simon’s life being saved.
First, the bartender, Saayied Halabi, who had EMT training, performed chest compressions, while a nurse, who was dining there, joined in.

Linda Simon called 911, and a minute later, AMR paramedics, Carter DeMarco and PJ Bridge arrived and began advanced cardiac life support. The paramedics just happened to be nearby.
John Simon went to Bridgeport Hospital had surgery performed and is now recuperating. Those who helped save his life visited him at the hospital and they received a tray of cookies for their efforts.
