Milford Mayor Endorses Presidential Candidate
Milford Mayor Ben Blake revealed who he is voting for president in the upcoming Democratic primary.

MILFORD, CT — Today, Mayor Ben Blake (D-Milford) and several Connecticut elected officials endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg for president.
“Mike Bloomberg is a mayor which means he’s pragmatic, practical, sensible and that he gets things done,” said Mayor of Milford Benjamin Blake in a prepared statement. “We are off to a good start as we kick off the 2020 campaign for Mike Bloomberg right here in Milford. Mike unites people and he is doing the right things, and I’m so proud to have Milford be the place where are kicking off this campaign for the next generation. This is the most important election coming up in my lifetime.”

Blake was first elected in November 2011 and is now in his fifth term as the 10th mayor of the City of Milford. Ben has led the charge on a series of cost cutting initiatives and streamlined city operations to make Milford government more effective and efficient while also focusing on economic development that has stimulated business expansion throughout Milford. He previously served eight years as a member of the Board of Aldermen, including terms as Minority Leader and as Chairman.
“Connecticut is vital to building support for Mike’s campaign in the region,” said Brett Broesder, Connecticut State Director for Mike Bloomberg 2020. “We’re excited to have a groundswell of support for Mike’s campaign as we look to beat Donald Trump in November. These leaders bring expertise and enthusiasm to our campaign as we prepare for Connectitcut’s April 28 primary.”

This announcement comes on the heels of Mike Bloomberg 2020 opening its Milford headquarters. The campaign has continued to gain a groundswell of support from current and former elected officials across the state, including recent endorsements from State Representatives Charlie Stallworth (D-Bridgeport) and Jonathan Steinberg (D-Westport) and former Mayors Toni Harp (D-New Haven) and Bill Finch (D-Bridgeport.
The endorsements are also coupled with key leaders joining Mike Bloomberg 2020 as campaign co-chairs and an unprecedented amount of activity from a presidential primary campaign in Connecticut that includes campaign events in Hartford, Stamford, Manchester, and Greenwich.
