Milford National Lou Gehrig Little League 11u Wins District 4 Championship: Video

The Milford National Lou Gehrig Little League 11U District All Stars capped off a the District 4 tournament with a 6-5 championship win over Max Sinoway (North Haven) on Wednesday night, July 13 at Roche Field in Orange, CT. The traditional victory lap taken by the players with the District 4 banner was a fitting ending to a perfect tournament as the team never lost a game, wrapping up the title with a 7th straight win.

Head coach Dan Maxwell notes, “this was a true team title with every player contributing in each game. The boys supported one another and showed a lot of heart and toughness against some talented opponents.” Milford took the title behind the strength of its’ bats and solid pitching throughout. Trey Deitelbaum, Chris Simone, and Jack Weber had 4 dingers each. Daniel Maxwell added 3 of his own and John Neider and Kyle Zarnoch tallied a homer each. On the mound, starters Deitelbaum, Simone, Maxwell, and Zarnoch led the team with Zach Anderson, Luke Karas, and Bryan Vasquez recording some big outs along the way. Milford’s pitchers only allowed 1 homerun through the tournament and the team outscored its’ opponents by more than 30 runs. Defensively, Milford was led by Brendan Buchner, Brandon Macdonald, Ryan McNellis, and Braydon Young in the field.

The boys will not have much time to rest as the District 4 title means that the team continues on with state tournament play. MNLGLL looks to keep the streak alive against the District 2 champs on Friday night in Darien.
