Milford Oyster Festival Announces 2 Headlining Musical Acts

In past years, the festival has attracted the Gin Blossoms and Bret Michaels, the lead singer of Poison.

MILFORD, CT - The Milford Oyster Festival has announced its entertainment headliner for its annual event, which brings 50,000 plus people to downtown Milford.

And for the first time in its 42-year history there will be two headline bands this year, the committee posted on their website.

The two bands are: Blue Oyster Cult and The Marshall Tucker Band.

According to the Milford Oyster Festival website: “Blue Oyster Cult is an American rock band from Long Island, New York, whose most successful work includes the hard rock and heavy metal songs "(Don't Fear) The Reaper", "Godzilla" and "Burnin' for You". Since the release of their eponymous debut album in 1972, the band has sold over 24 million albums worldwide, including 7 million in the United States alone.”

In 2015, the headliner was the Gin Blossoms, and in 2014 it was Poison frontman Bret Michaels who took to the main state at Fowler Field.

The Milford Oyster Festival will be held on Saturday, August 20 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. all throughout the downtown area. Oyster Eve will be held Friday night at Lisman Landing and downtown businesses.
