Milford Oyster Festival Receives 'National' Honor
As in National Geographic magazine, which gave the annual event some well-deserved props.

MILFORD, CT — Imagine taking a "foodie" road trip, winding your way through the United States in search of The Best Food Festival in Every U.S. State. Well, National Geographic recently embarked on such a journey, and an annual Milford event made the list for Connecticut.
The Milford Oyster Festival received the nod for its "wealth of East Coast oysters," which are gathered from Virginia all the way to Maine.
"But the choicest of the 30,000 oysters (and clams) served on the half shell at this August event are those marked with a 'CT,'" the magazine states.

The list is adapted from a new National Geographic book, entitled Great American Eating Experiences, that offers up a delectable grouping of quirky cuisine celebrations throughout the country.
