MILFORD, CT — Let's hear it for Milford's soon to be famous pastry chief, Adrianna Robles, who will be appearing on your television screen next month.

Robles, who owns 'Good Morning Cupcake,' has been selected to compete on Food Network's new series, "Girl Scout Championship." For Robles, it's a dream come true as she had tried unsuccessfully at least six times over three years to appear on other Food Network shows.

Her perseverance paid off as she will be featured in this new Food Network series. Ironically, she is a former Girl Scout herself.

"The experience of being on the show was the most nerve-wracking thing I've ever done but also a lot of fun," Robles told Patch. "Every one was really friendly, nice and supportive...I’m very excited to see the final product of the show because I only go to see it through my eyes and not the camera’s eye."

Robles' episode airs 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 24 on the Food Network. If you're not familiar with her local business, 'Good Morning Cupcake,' it is a dessert catering business that offers dessert buffets, classes, Venetian hours, interactive experiences and lots of gluten free and vegan options.

A Love Of Cupcakes

Robles said she found her love for cupcakes back in high school when she was involved in numerous groups and saw how vital bake sales were for fundraising.

"I was so tired of seeing the same store bought sweets at every sale that I bought a book that explained how to decorate cupcakes with household items such as Oreos, twirlers and cereal. This really sparked the love of cupcakes in me. At 18 years old I had a very vivid dream. I was walking up to a bakery. I could see the name, logo and colors very clearly. When I woke up I knew that this was my end goal in life. I wanted to have my own pastry business."

She initially attended Southern Connecticut State University due to her love of cheerleading and she majored in photography. But her passion for both interests waned and a friend suggested she attend culinary school.

"At first I was hesitant because I didn’t believe I could make a living doing what I truly loved. Of course I was very wrong! I ended up attending Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI and graduated in the spring of 2014," Robles said.

Her Favorite Cupcake To Make

It is hard for Robles to pick just one, but she said her signature decoration on "my cupcakes is a little bit of edible glitter."

"There is something about the shine that just attracts and wow’s people. My business has a signature cupcake called the “Good Morning Cupcake." It contains a coffee milk sponge (inspired by my time in RI), maple Swiss butter cream and topped with corn flake cereal."

She features dozens of cupcakes and these are just a few of them: Piña Colada, Peach Melba, Chocolate Chip Pancake, Lemon Meringue, Strawberry Short Cake, Boston Cream, Cannoli, PBJ, Banana Cream Pie, Apple Pie, Caramel Apple, Pecan Pie, Pumpkin Cheesecake and Spice, Key Lime Pie, Chocolate and Vanilla Butter Cream, Samoa, Peppermint Patty, Banana Butterscotch, Reese’s, Cookies and Cream, Mounds, Almond Joy, and even a Sweet Potato Casserole.

What Exactly Is This New Food Network Show About?

The premise is that five professional bakers "transform iconic Girl Scout Cookies into dozens of cookie pops inspired by outer space."

"Then they head to the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, N.J., to sell their creations to a crowd of hungry cookie-lovers, including host Alyson Hannigan. The three bakers with the most votes from the crowd move on to create out-of-this-world cakes inspired by the solar system. They turn Girl Scout Cookies including Thin Mints, Tagalongs and Do-si-dos into spectacular cakes based on their favorite planet," according to the Food Network's description of the show via its website.

The judges include: Nacho Aguirre, Paulette Goto and Katie Lee and the winning baker gets a dream vacation and of course a year's supply of Girl Scout Cookies.
