Milford Police Department Cited for Outstanding Traffic Safety Programs

Milford Police Officer Al Mauro was honored for his work involving impaired driving.

AAA Southern New England – CT recently honored the Milford Police Department with a Gold Award for the department’s outstanding traffic safety programs that include an active child passenger safety program, an aggressive drunk driving enforcement campaign; and a strong teen driving awareness program, among other initiatives.

In addition, AAA recognized Officer Al Mauro as a department-nominated Traffic Safety Hero for his work involving impaired driving in Milford. As a result of his work, Officer Mauro was also recognized numerous times by MADD for his efforts.

At AAA’s 5th Annual Community Traffic Safety Awards lunch recently at Marisa’s, Trumbull, Public Affairs Manager Fran Mayko, second, right, presented a Gold Award to Sgt.
