Milford Police Investigating 2 'Suspicious Encounters'

Police say they have increased patrols as a result of the incidents.

The Milford Police Department is currently investigating two incidents involving suspicious encounters on the east side of Milford, police said Wednesday afternoon.

The first incident occurred on Beach Avenue, which involved a male in a vehicle making an inappropriate gesture to a group of teenage girls, police said.

The second incident happened on Baxter Lane involving a male in a vehicle motioning to a child to come towards his vehicle, police said.

During both of these incidents, witnesses saw a light blue four door car operated by a white male with darker hair and possibly facial hair. Police have increased their patrols in these areas and school personnel are aware of the incidents.

In light of these types of suspicious encounters adults are reminded to speak with children, encouraging them to immediately report to a trusted adult, anything that feels suspicious or uncomfortable, police said.
