Milford Police K-9 Sniffs Out 11 Pounds of Marijuana

Police say the huge drug bust has a street value of $33,000.

Milford’s police K-9 “Cedar” helped sniff out 11 pounds of high-grade marijuana and a 9 MM firearm with ammunition, police said Thursday.

Police said in November 2014, Milford Police Department Narcotics and Vice Unit and the Bridgeport Drug Enforcement Agency office initiated an investigation regarding suspect drug trafficking activity involving Guiseppe Berardi, 28, of the Bronx, NY.

On Wednesday detective located Berardi in Milford. With the assistance of “Cedar” detectives found Berardi in possession of approximately five pounds of high-grade marijuana, police said.

At a separate location, detectives seized an additional six pounds of the same grade marijuana and a 9MM firearm with ammunition. The marijuana has a street value of $33,000.

He was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school, operating a drug factory, criminal possession of a firearm. He was held on $100,000 bond.
